Candi,

I bought the Panasonic talking caller ID phones maybe a year ago. they are
available commercially. they aren't the cheapest phone out there and it
does require a sighted person to enter the menus and activate the talking
caller ID function. They are working great and I'm happy with them.

As far as kitchen things, once upon a time when I got my first apartment, I
bought a lot of things from thrift stores. I actually still have my $2
waffle maker from all those years ago.

As far as specific blindness kitchen items I don't own any. I put bump dots
on my microwave and stove. I have cookbooks in Braille or on the computer.
I don't buy that much canned goods anymore, but I used to label those with
Brailled notecards rubber banded around the cans.
HTH and best of luck!
Julie
