[Blindtlk] Thought you all might find thisinteresting-AirTranfined $500K for disability violations

Mari:

I think the key -- at least initially -- to not feeling like a prisoner is
to note the word you are using -- "I feel ...". This means that you have
control; that's what cognitive therapy is all about -- learning when you
have negative thoughts and how to eradicate or alter them. In life, you can
choose to view your cup as either half-empty or half-full. At the moment,
you are choosing to view it as half-empty. To view it as half-full, note
that you have already taken steps to solve the problem -- you're getting rid
of debt; you're cutting back on your location-related obligations; you're
putting your house on the market. So while things may be inconvenient at the
moment, the situation may not last forever although it's a crummy real
estate market these days. But you've taken some steps. Is that not progress?
Is that not taking control, at least a bit?

I realize that when you're in a situation and feel desperate, it seems like
it will never change. But there are few certainties in life and in this
case, that's a good thing.

So try to celebrate what you've already done and look forward to the future.
And you might want to cultivate some hobbies -- reading, ham radio,
whatever -- to get your mind off your troubles.

Again, usual caveat applies -- I'm not in your situation so take my
ruminations for what they're worth to you.

Mike
