Hi Mike,
Thanks for the information. As to the "free thing," I have no
problem paying for a piece of software, as I will
probably do with the Stream softpak for recording in MP3.
However, being a student (and only a teenager at that,) I don't
have much money to call my own, if any! * Smile! I do get an
allowance, and could save money for a product, but many online
paying services require a credit card, which I don't have, and I
don't want to use my parents' credit card unless there is no
other option. So, if there's a free option, I'll go with it. I
asked the list if there was any freeware to do this task to see
if there was a free option. If not, then I'll probably buy the
program. By the way, this is off-list.

I believe there actually *is* a program called WAV2MP3 that does
sound
conversion. There's also a free version of the program SWITCH
that converts
sound file formats.
One more thing: you keep harping on this free thing. Isn't there
anything
worth enough you'd pay for it? Why should programmers labor for
free?

Subject: [Blindtlk] freeware for audio conversion
Hi everyone,
Do you know of any software that I can download (preferably for
free) to convert audio files with? I have documents covered, but
I've found that online-converter.com isn't very reliable, and
would like a program that I can convert audio with, such as WAV
to MP3 or video to MP3. Any help would be appreciated! By the
way, we're finally getting snow here in Maryland! Thanks!
Chris
