[Blindtlk] Chapters in Philadelphia and New York?

Well you have asked at the right place. I live in the greater Philadelphia
area, and attend Temple University. I like Philadelphia for a number of
reasons. I am originally from Texas, and public transportation is not the
best there, yes its not the best here in Philly but there are a lot of
options. Septa is not the most accessible, like the train conductors don't
announce the stops on the platform, but they are getting better about it. If
you ask them they will tell you, and there are always others on the platform
to ask. The website is accessible to get schedules, plus the automated
schedule call in number, plus the septa Iphone app. The subway and L trains
all announce there stops. So do the buses and trolleys. Septa has a number
of options, Regional rail that goes out to the burbs. Subways and the L,
that are for the city. Plus trolleys, buses and lots of cabs. If your in the
city you can walk to most places. 

I would love to continue to tell you about Philadelphia and Temple. When is

chapters in the Philadelphia city, mine is the Keystone chapter and the
other is the Greater Philadelphia. They both meet at different times. Also

You can email me specific Temple University questions. This is my first year
there. The campus is very easy to navigate as its set up in a grid. The DRS
office is good and will give you the assistance you need to be a successful
student. I am assuming you will be living on campus, so I can't tell you
about the dorm living, as I am a commuter student. The OVR office is okay,
the good thing is our state president, use to be a VR counselor, and a
current DA, District Admin, are both NFB members. So they are good at being
able to tell you how to navigate the system. In my chapter, there are lots
of students or people who work, who are good mentors for us students.

Hello. I'm going to be visiting Philadelphia and New York City during my
Spring Break in order to look at universities in those two places to
transfer to. I was wondering when the chapters in those two cities meet,
because if I'm in the area, I thought I would attend one, schedule
permitting. Also, while I'm on the subject of Philly and New York, do any of
you go to school there? I'm looking at Temple University in Philly, and the
City Universities of New York system in Manhattan and Brooklyn. What are
your experiences living in those cities? How do you find the environment to
be, the transportation, (I'm thinking more of Philly and SEPTA when I ask
that particular question), etc.? In essence, what are your overall
impressions of these cities? I'm just trying to get an overall idea, and I
thought it would be a good idea to get some opinions from some of my fellow
Federationists. Thank you very much!
