[Blindtlk] Running While Blind, How to Link to Guide

Hi,
	I, personally, would prefer running
side by side if I were going to run at all. I think that would
be easier for me, because I'd feel more comfortable with someone
beside me instead of in front of me.

Sincerely,
Jasmine

You shouldn't assume that it is the blind guy who is holding the
sighted person back. Maybe the blind guy is a better runner, and
the
sighted guy is holding him/her back.

What little of this I have done it works best if the people run
side
by side -- so if the runners aren't matched then someone has to
slow
down, or someone has to speed up.

Question.

How does this work? I mean, you have two people who run at
different
speeds and if you use a jump rope, I'm sorry, but I'm picturing
in
my mind two people running where the guide is holding one handle
and
the blind runner holding the other, but the blind runner is
trying
to keep up with the guide, trailing behind.

IDK. I guess I don't understand.

I did it the same way. In fact, a jump-rope isn't a bad thing to
use since
it has handles at both ends.

When I have done it we used a short length of rope to which we
both held. I
am not an expert runner though, so there may be a better way.

p.s. I am not even an amateur runner, just a lazy blind guy!
