[Blindtlk] Professional Opinion Regarding My Actions

Hi,

Linda had very good suggestions. Another thought. Next time you make a
request, put it in writing, as she suggests. Also place a note in your
calendar, say, 3 days ahead to write another note if the first hasn't been
responded to, and do the same if you have to write a third note. Then send
those three notes along with a new one to the person above your supervisor,
all the while, keeping track with your calendar to follow up.

I do not believe you were unprofessional. It was your supervisor who was
unprofessional by not supplying what you needed in order to do your job
effectively and efficiently.

If I had to guess, your supervisor was reprimanded for waiting six weeks and
not doing what was needed to get what you had asksed for. So in turn, you
get the blame and it's your fault for talking to someone else about what was
happpening.

>From now on, if you were not doing so already, put your requests in
writing.. That way, it is easy to forward that document up the chain of
command, if necessary.

My only question to you is did you only ask the one time for what you
needed, or more than once? It seems like you only asked once since 4 to 6
weeks went by. People do forget things and you may have to ask your
supervisor for something a couple of times to get results.

Just my two cents worth.
