I also wash almost everything in cold water. I have a talking color
identifier. I separate dark and light using the color identifier. I wash
sheets separately. I also wash towels separately. I use oxee-clean with
everything. I also hang delicate clothing on the line to dry.

I do something similar, only I wash everything in cold water. And I have
several things I don't dry or only dry for a few minutes. If I have a lot of
red, or new red things, I wash them separate. I've found that even things
that say hand wash, mostly can be safely washed in the machine, but then I
don't dry those at all.

Never heard that called the college method, but, yes, remembering back to
those days. I can see where that'd fit. I call that the batchler method &
even though I'm married now & have been for years. I do all the laundry
round here & for the most part still use that method.
