Lauren,

The recipient of the email, which is you, would not be aware.  Only the sender of the email, Ziegler, has the ability to tell if you read/opened the email Ziegler sent out.  There is an option that Ziegler chose while composing their email that tells them who read it.  You, as the recipient of the email, would not be involved in that process.
