Yes, these comments are right on, because independence isn't about doing 
everything by yourself.  It's about the freedom to choose to do by yourself 
or not.

When our girls were at home, and we went out somewhere with them, for 
instance shopping, many times, they were my assistants helping me shop, but 
there were also times when they would want to go to a different section of 
the store and I would arrange to meet them back at Customer Service, or meet 
them at the front of the store, but it's all about choice.

Exactly. For me, it's about interdependence, Helping and supporting
each other as we try to live yet, all these Federation types don't
seem to admit that total, unblinking independence for anyone promises
a very lonely existance! Besides, human animals are innately social
creatures, arranged  ingeniously to support each other and yes, even
