[Blindtlk] accessible dishwashers?

Mine is two squarish tubs built into a counter top. My wife tells me that it remains very accessible. I sure wish they'd update it, so it was less so. Seriously, I haven't bought a dishwasher in ten years. The best thing you can do is to go to an appliance store and look. I would start with one that is owned locally, since they will be of the most help, and more anxious to make the sale. It may cost more in the short run, but I think you'll be happier in the long run.

Many years ago, General electric made some dishwashers that had little roughened squares covering each membrane switch so that they were easily felt and the menu sequences were fixed and quite useable. When I was looking for a home seven years ago, I saw a new home with a dishwasher like that.
However, the house was sloppily put together (cracks in the walls from
settling) so I didn't buy it.

Good question.  Mine's an Amana and I have bumpdots on the most important parts of the touch pad.  It's been quite reliable and there is no timeset because all you do is push start and that's that.  You could easily  put brailled tape on it.  I think mine is five or six years old.  Sorry I don't have the model number to help you out more.
