[Blindtlk] Putting reflective tape on my cane?

You might not need to cover the whole length of the cane.  Scotch-Lite tape, 
if that's still around, had little corner-reflector particles embedded in 
its surface so that light reflection would be concentrated into the 
directions from which the light comes, such as from headlights.  So, at 
least when new, it's supposed to brighter than white paint.  My brother 
wants me to use this material, and I have some on a rain coat, but not 
currently on canes, backpacks or coats where it might do some good.  People 
can get into some nasty accidents, and you can't always hear the traffic you 
need to, especially when there is wet pavement.

Well, how about this.  It's a good idea, and common sense, to wear something
that will make you visible.  In Seattle, I've heard from many people who
appreciate pedestrians wearing a reflective vest, or simple reflective
clothing or something that will make people see you.  This has absolutely
nothing to do with blindness...Just common sense.
So, why not go that route?

I don't have any on mine, though we had many opportunities at LCB to
decorate our canes. I'm just not that crafty. I have always thought that
reflective tape was more decorative than anything. To me the long white cane
with the glow-in-the-dark red tip is identifiable enough. However, I do not
want to rain on anyone's creative parade.
