[Blindtlk] Cane vs. Guide Dog

I was and am still a good cane user, that is I am comfortable with it. I got a dog because I was having problems with my hands. I have always loved my dogs, but I don't like people stopping me and askine me how old he is, what kind he is, and telling me he is looking kind of old, what's his name, I know I'm not supposed to pet him but ... Dogs zero in on doors across parking lots more readily then canes do. Dogs stay on a path well, which helps not get lost in snow, though most of the time this isn't an issue. It is a big responsibility. I personally feel that if you have a dog it is well to use it more often than not, but all don't agree with me. I won't get another one after this one because I don't go out enough to warrant using one. This is my personal feeling, but the school would probably grant me another dog. I do think it is best if you love dogs, though many haven't when they got their first one. I think the dogs grew on them, but I am crazy about dogs. I have three of them.

You really have to be a dog lover. You need to walk the dog . get food for dog. Vet bills etc. But i love my dog. Relaxes me petting him and playing and yes getting doggie kisses.
