Good evening everyone,
Perhaps you could do something nice for them in return for their driving
you to where you need to go. We had a couple taking us to church before they
moved to another part of town. When we offered to pay them for taking us or
whenever we tried reimbursing them for buying us our dinner on the grounds
there reply was always "Don't worry about it."
Cornerstone Church holds an annual "Legacy Banquet" to raise funds for
Cornerstone Christian School one of the top Christian schools in the
country. One of the banquet activities is a golf ball drop. Attendees are
invited to perches golf balls for $25 each. The golf balls will be loaded on
to a helicopter and dropped on to a putting green on the church grounds. The
buyer of the golf ball that lands in or closest to the hole wins $5000.00
approximately one year's tuition at Cornerstone Christian School. The couple
in question has a daughter they would like to enroll in Cornerstone
Christian school but cannot swing the tuition. In appreciation of their
taking us to church and home we plan to buy a golf ball in their daughter's
name and pray her family will win the $5000 so they can enroll her in
Cornerstone Christian School for at least one year. This would enable their
daughter to begin attending the school and give them additional time to find
ways to cover the tuition so she can finish her schooling in a Christian
environment.
Speaking of golf tournaments many organizations sponsor them to raise
funds. This is a fundraiser the NFB ought to consider making an annual
event. Why not call it the "NFB Cup." Cornerstone Church calls their golf
tournament the "Pastor's Cup." It is played on the TPC Course at the JW
Marriott in San Antonio on the Oak's Course. This is the same course on
which the Bolero Texas Open is played. What a great idea!

Subject: Re: [Blindtlk] Paying Drivers? How to figure
Afternoon, Mari,
Personally, I am inclined to think, offering
classmate dollars, in exchange for her driving
you, she may find insulting. I mean, isn't that
like, expecting one to compensate his hoast for
the electricity you use? I mean, however, if you
and she work it out so that you help cover gas on
long trips, I suppose that's a reasonable idea.
Carbe offering to pay her? â? Hunzikerâ?< -- *"I can do all things through
