Hi,
Thank you for replying to my message about sewing. Tips and tricks are just what I need. I hope you don't mind a question or two. First, do you have any tricks for sewing a straight line? I don't sew extremely crooked, but it could be straighter. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a downloadable copy of the book you recommended. Do you know any that teach different stitches? I know straight, long, and back stitch, and loop stitch, but I would like to learn more.
The reason I hand sew is because I am making medieval recreation garb, and that his better done by hand. I do use a sewing machine for other things, but only use it for garb if I am in a really big hurry.
Thanks for your time and attention,
Jewel

I was a day student there when my Air Force parents were stationed there, and our teacher had worked for a fashion designer in the past. Her experience brought us all sorts of sewing tips and tricks. I wouldn't call myself a seamstress, but have spent many an hour at the sewing machine all through life. You can write me off-list and would be glad to help with what I know. Although, it would be good to hear from others using the sewing machine. I know you talked about hand-sewing, but is therea reason you wouldn't consider using a machine?

Does anyone know a or some good books or websites with sewing tricks for sewing as a blind person? I am looking for more than just how to thread a needle and such.
