[Blindtlk] Any blind property appraisers out there?

I can tell you we have a blind realtor in town who has been selling
properties for years, and another in Jerome. I realize realtors and
appraisers are different vocations, but you never know.

I don't agree; anything is possible. Just because we can't think of a way
to do it doesn't' mean it can't be done. One accommodation could be to have
someone go with you and tell you what they see. Now, I don't have the
proper skillset to really have a dialogue about this, but with the right set
of skills and creative mindset, anything can happen.

Hi,

I would think this to be a very unrealistic type of employment for a blind
person. I realize that we can do almost anything but, let's face it, we are
blind and some jobs just rely on the ability to see. I think we must teach
our young people to go for their dreams but at the same time to be realistic
and not try for things that are not possible. If this person has a lot of
usable sight, in other words, not really blind, then maybe but, not for a
total or very low partial. It is just my o pinion but as my experience of
working as an advocate for the blind and disabled I find it better to be
completely honest with my clients and not let them go down unrealistic paths
to destruction and disappointment.

Greetings to the list.

We have a client who is interested in exploring this avenue for employment.
Although we have had a blind realtor in town for several years, I know of no
property appraisers, so would love to hear from anyone with any experience.

Thanks very much.
