[BlindTlk] Social Security over payment question

Hi all!
I recently got one too. I quickly followed it up since in the notice, there were a few things that didn’t make sence to me. I filed a waver form because of the things that didn’t add up in the notice. In your notice, did you notice anything that didn’t add up nor look right? Examples: no hard copy versions, it’s about a program you’re no longer participating in, or an amount that doesn’t add up to any math you did? If yes to these examples, there is always the waver form on your side. You do take the risk of them not waving it off, but it’s free to fill out and it does apply to anything, that doesn’t add up, especially if it regards their own procedures on how they give you the notice in the first place. I know, they are switching to paperless checks, but as I understand it, the paperless bit only applies to being paid, not their notices like overpayments and other important information like award letters and updates to changes they share with you.

Subject: [BlindTlk] Social Security over payment question

Hello, sorry if this is off-topic or if I should not post this or if it’s unrelated to this particular list, but I am wondering what to do about an overpayment notice that I received from Social Security if I’m not able to afford to pay it back. Is there anyone who was knowledgeable about this and would be able to Give me advice or direction? Are there any advocates or lawyers or any type of way that I can question this? Thank you.
