Dear Shannon,

Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for blind prospective parents to run into 
problems with adoption agencies who are not familiar with blind people.  It 
might help to put them in contact with some competent blind parents so they 
can see firsthand that blindness is not an obstacle to being a good mother 
or dad.  Where do you live?  If you contact the NFB president in your state, 
he or she can probably put you in contact with parents who will be happy to 
help.
