Dianna, welcome.  My name is veronica and i am also totally blind.  take it 
from all of us mom's, you can do it without anyone coming by to check on you 
or your little one.  If you have any questions, all of us here will be 
willing to chime right in with our advice.  My daughter is already 9 years 
old, so I've been there and done that already, but there are lots of new 
mom's here.
