[blparent] Carseats for children 1 year-old or older?

the sit 'n stroll is a terrible stroller. it is tippy, and a pain in the ass
to pull. its basic selling point is its functionality for travel. it can
become a carseat or a stroller with the pull of a lever, so only one piece
of equipment is required. I think it holds up to about 50 pounds, but you
could get those specs on the tripleplay products website. you could also use
something like a gogo travel mate, which is basically a graco stroller frame
for convertable sized carseats. I think a site that carries them is
travelingwithkids.com. if you did that, you could buy one frame and one
carseat, as the convertable seats hold babies from 5 to 50 pounds. you'd
just need an insert for the seat for when your baby is very tiny and has no
head control.

>>> Hi,
>>> We're looking at carseats, and we love the option of the Graco Infant
>>> Snugglerider for children less than a year old.
>>> However, for children 1 or older, we're looking for a carseat that fits
>>> kids up to 50-65 lbs, is front and rear facing and can be placed in a
>>> stroller We don't have a car, so we need one that can be used without a
>>> base. Also, one that's not so heavy or tall that you can't get it in and
>>> out of taxis or public transit
>>> We're trying to buy as few carseats as we can, so we're not forking out
>>> cash for a few months at a time.
>>> Any help would be greatly appreciated!
>>> Thanks in advance, and have a great weekend!
>>>
