Jennifer,

There are some nice sets available through a handful of vendors. On the
adaptive boards, the dark squares are raised and, the pieces are pegged and
fit in holes on each square, and the black pieces are marked either with a
flattened top or some indicator like a raised metal piece on them. Your best
bet would be the wooden set that Independent Living Aids used to call their
Deluxe Wooden chess set. It runs around $40 and looks and feels nicer than
the $20 one that more people carry. Not sure that ILA is still carrying the
product, but others do. It's a solid wood board with wooden pieces, and
looks nice as well. The cheaper wooden sets will not last and do not look or
feel as nice.

I've got some different sets from when I used to play in tournaments. Can't
wait to break them out when my girls are old enough to learn and appreciate
the game.

Regards,
-Mark
