[blparent] easy to install carseats?

The new stuff isn't necessarily safer. In most vehicles the LATCH system is
only rated to 40 pounds, so if your child weighs more then that, you have to
use the seat belt anyways. Check the owners manual for the vehicle. The seat
belt path is where it is because the car seat needs to be held down and
back. Placing the path to high could cause the front of the car seat to slip
off the vehicles seat in a crash.

Hey, don't be sad. It means he's growing up and becoming a big boy!
When we looked around for a stage 2 car seat I didn't notice any with seat
belt threading at the top. I think this is because newer cars have new
fangled apparatuses that are supposedly safer for the kid than seat belt
threaded car seats.
