Congratulations on your new baby. She'll sure grow up fast. Mine will be
five years old in a few months, and it seems like just last week she
arrived. Feel free to ask any and all questions--someone around here will
have been through a similar situation and grown the wiser for it.

Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may
kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at
evening.--Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.

Subject: [blparent] New Baby

Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker here for quite awhile. I finally join you on the other
side of the baby bridge. My daughter Ayla arrived Thursday morning. She
weighed in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces, 20 inches long. She's a little miracle for
me.

As a blind parent, I'm finding the transition surprisingly easy. We're
struggling with breastfeeding a bit and I'm more exhausted than I've ever
been before, but as for diaper changes and all that, so far, so good. We
already had one blowout and although mom was there to help me through it, it
wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Gross, but it's different when it's
your child. In my opinion anyway.

I'm primarily a single parent. There is no father here to help me. That
situation is a whole other can of worms I'm too exhausted to get into. So
any and all advice is welcome. I save all posts I find here that I think I
might need down the line, and I have to say, you guys have some brilliant
ideas.

Si
