Gotta love the ones who think you can't find your own butt without both
hands and a compass.

Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may
kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at
evening.--Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.

This isn't parent-related, but just goes to show how clueless some
people can be about blindness. I was waiting for the bus at a campus
stop that has two buses. The bus I didn't want came by, the driver
stopped and said which bus it was, I said "no thanks, I'm waiting for
the other one" and he drove off. About five minutes later a lady came
running up to me disturbing me while I was reading email on my iPhone.
She said she was working nearby and wondered if I needed any help? I
said no thanks, I'm just waiting for the bus. Sounding surprised, she
exclaimed, "But a bus just came by!" I explained that yes, a bus did
go by but that wasn't the bus I was waiting for. Sounding even more
incredulous she asked, "But how did you know?" I explained that the
driver had told me which bus it was, at which point she finally seemed
to comprehend that maybe I was more aware of my whereabouts that she
had originally thought.
