Just thinking about how a blind couple might control the TV. Turns out, I
wasn't the first person to wonder about this.

We recently had several listeners ask us about the accessibility of cable TV
systems and suggesting that we do a show on this topic.

As it turns out, Comcast has apparently developed a talking TV interface
that it is going to test out in a limited fashion early in 2014. If you
would like to know more, here is a link to an article in AFB's "Access
World" that describes Comcast's accessibility initiatives and their talking
TV interface:

We will see if we can arrange an interview with a representative from
Comcast for an episode to air later this year.

In addition, below are links to the audio and show notes for an earlier
episode of Eyes On Success in which we talked with Jose Tamayo about an
accessible home entertainment system:

Can't work the remote for your TV? Hosts Peter and Nancy Torpey talk with
Jose Tamayo about a system he made and uses independently to watch
television, movies and home videos and also to listen to music and podcasts.
We'll do demos of using the system with either the Apple remote that comes
with the Apple TV or the Apple remote app on the iPhone.
