It sounds like a fun trip. Check with an agent over the phone about a
carseat. I don't think you need one, but it's worth asking. And bring
things to entertain your little one: Books, drawing material, a movie
you could watch on your phone. You might want to get up and walk
through the train with your child for some exercise if he gets
fidgety. Just know where he is at all times; maybe have him wear
something that can keep him attached to you somewhat, or tell him
he'll get a treat if he holds your hand when you're walking. Let him
have a window seat and talk about what you're going by, if he likes to
do that. Have a nice trip.
