The one I had, which was a Romeo--back before the Juliets--was very loud.  I 
used it in a couple of different apartments, and one of the neighbors who 
complained about it said it sounded to him like something from his tour in 
Vietnam.

Jennifer, you really haven't answered the question as to what you want to
use the embosser to do. Whether a device is good or not depends on the task
you want it to perform. It does need to be set up properly in order to work
well. The one I have for my work produces single sided pages which works
fine for my purposes.
