[Cinci-NFB] Summary of initial planning meeting for Blind Expo at Urban Artifact

Hello all. The following is a summary of our initial planning meeting for
our Expo at Urban Artifact, which is set for Saturday October 12 from 12 to
4:00 P.M. President Sheri Albers, Deanna Lewis, Marianne Denning, Dale
Barta, Gloria Robinson and Emily and Lillie Pennington attended. Our next
meeting is scheduled for July 30 at 7:00 PM by teleconference.

 

1.	Guest list: Sheri and brooke Albers will draft letter for postcard
and send to Library for the Blind of Ohio at Cleveland Public Library to
send to members of NLS for the Blind and Print Disabled in Hamilton, Butler,
Warren and Clermont Counties. Sheri will work on postcard to send to
Library. Marianne will  get with CABVI regarding mailings to their
consumers.
2.	Exhibits There is room for six tables in the exhibit area. Potential
Exhibitors will be: CABVI, (Marianne will follow up), OOD (Sheri) Humanware
/ Freedom Scientific (Sheri), Clovernook Center (Deanna), Guiding Eyes for
the Blind (Diane Gudaitis) and NFB of Cincinnati. NFB's exhibit table will
feature literature with information on Newsline and demonstrations of the
KNFB Reader. Members will speak and do demonstrations as needed.
3.	Media: Chris will reach out to Liz Bonis from Channel 12. Gloria R.
will call Channel 19. Social Media opportunities also exist. 
4.	Gloria will be in charge of catering this event.  She has agreed to
contact potential sponsors such as Kroger. Catering will focus on finger
foods (i.e. meat balls) and bottles of water. 
5.	Organize committees for  setup, cleanup, exhibits, etc. 
6.	Schedule next planning meeting for July 30 at 7:00 PM by
teleconference.
