REMINDER: CONVENTION TOUR RESERVATION

If you are planning to attend the Thursday afternoon tour to the Unseen
Bean, Celestial Seasonings, and Redstone Meadery you MUST contact Maryann
Migliorelli by phone at 303-499-9125 or by e-mail at Mrsmigs at migliorelli.org
by close of business Monday, October 8. PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME MARYANN KNOWS
YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN THE TOUR. Even if you completed a
survey, please give Maryann a call as the surveys only assisted the chapter
planning the tour and not calculating participants. If enough individuals
do not express interest by Monday, the tour will be canceled.

Thank you all for your help and we look forward to seeing you in Boulder.
Below, you will find the previously posted tour information.

Hello Federationists and friends,

The Boulder Valley Chapter is proud to welcome you to Boulder for this
year’s state convention. As part of your welcome we have put together some
wonderful tours. These tours are based on availability, and we will arrange
transportation from the Denver area if enough people wish to arrive in
Boulder in time to enjoy the tours.

Tour attendees will visit Celestial Seasonings, The Unseen Bean coffee
Roastery, and Redstone Meadery. Read the destination descriptions at the
bottom of this message. The tour itinerary starts at 11:00 am and returns
at 2:30 pm, with plenty of time before the 3:00 pm history of the Federation
presentation. The tour cost is $25 per person and is due at the time of the
tour. Please register with Maryann Migliorelli by phone at 303-499-9125, or

Tour descriptions

Celestial Seasonings Tour

Celestial Seasonings is a manufacturing facility that makes the Celestial
Seasonings line of tea products. Guests who tour this facility walk on the
factory floor to witness the creation and packaging process first hand
including the famous mint room. They can also taste every tea being made and
enjoy the famous artwork featured on the tea boxes.

Visitors may also visit the tea shop to purchase teas and other Celestial
Seasonings merchandise at discounted prices. Guests may also find Celestial
Seasonings and Boulder souvenirs as well as gourmet treats and beauty
products made from natural ingredients. Hungry or thirsty guests may also
visit the Celestial Café which offers daily breakfast and lunch specials
along with a standard menu and soup and salad bar.

Unseen Bean Coffee Roastery

Tour the Unseen Bean coffee roasting plant operated by Gerry Leary.

Gerry is blind and roasts and sells roasted coffee from all over the world
to sell to folks around Boulder. He will sell one or more bags to you, too.
See how the coffee comes in, how it is roasted, and how it is shipped out.
Get your hands on a real coffee roasting machine when it is not too hot to
touch.

Samples may also be available to drink. He may even have some chocolate bars
containing coffee for sale. Talk about a serious caffeine high!

Redstone Meadery

Redstone Meadery is one of America’s best honey mead producers. Mead has
often been called “the nectar of the Gods,” and boasts unique flavors that
come from various honeys.

Redstone’s customized tour for NFBCO features descriptions of the brewing
and bottling process along with the equipment used to make its variety of
products. Unique to this tour are the tastings of several of the honeys as
well as an understanding of why and where each is used. The mead tastings
include ten complementary flavors including traditional mountain honey wine,
black raspberry nectar, and special autumn flavors. Tour guests also may
enjoy the specialty Redstone Reserve port-like wines for a fee, but the cost
is well worth the taste experience.

“If it was good enough for Bacchus, Zeus, Beowulf and Shakespeare, it’s good
enough for you.”
