[Colorado-Talk] RTD MyRide App Not Working For Nonvisual Users

Hi, so the only way I was actually able to buy the tickets through the RTD MyRide app it was by using Aira and sharing my screen with them, and then they would tell me which button to press, and sometimes I’d have to go back a couple of buttons to get to the right button. But it was successful. I hope this isn’t something we have to fully rely on for a long time.
Thanks
Elizabeth

The fact that most of us haven’t heard about this problem until yesterday indicates how little the app is used within the blind community.

The fact that this problem surfaced at all is an embarrassing testament to how well (or not well) the company is doing at testing what it develops and modifies before final release. I would hazard a guess that there are no screen reader users involved with testing who work for the company. Perhaps RTD might amend its contract to make this a requirement in the future? I intend to see about making this happen.
