It takes courage to be honest with one’s self. That courage always serves one well, no matter what it pertains to.
what Nella says is true in that one should try to focus on the positives as much as one can. Think of what you can do well as much as you might think of what you can’t do. This balanced approach is what can be very beneficial in coming to an accurate self-appraisal.
If you feel as if it is in your best interest to gain a solid foundation in blindness skills, then there are ways to do this.
The National Federation of the Blind has three affiliated adjustment to blindness training centers. these facilities offer top-level training in Braille, Cane Travel, Technology, daily living skills and access to highly successful and competent blind role models.
Someone said during at our meeting last year that gaining good blindness skills are the difference between participating in service projects and being the service projects.
Because the goal of our division is to be the servers and not the served, I would encourage you to look into training if you believe it might help you live the life you want, I know the training helped me.
