    Hello Beth,

I'm not sure what is meant by "tabled for the senate calendar." The phrase appears in your following message in the sentence:

SB939 has gone through all the proper channels and is tabled for the Senate calendar.

I thought tabled meant that it wouldn't be taken up.

Please clarify as I am happy to contact my legislators about this.

Thank you.

Subject: [Ct-nfb] legislative alert - voting bill

At our 2010 annual state convention, our members passed Resolution 2010-01 concerning equality in voting practices. Related to that resolution is a bill being considered by the State Legislature, SB939: An Act Concerning Revisions to Elections Related Statutes. Included in this bill are provisions that ensure that all voting systems are functioning, tested and ready for use prior to all elections. We are especially concerned with Sec. 52, Section 9-247.

SB939 has gone through all the proper channels and is tabled for the Senate calendar. Once it is passed by the Senate, the House will take up the bill. We are asking that members call their legislators to bring this bill to their attention and encourage passage of it.

  Thank you,
  Beth Rival, President
