Secretary Merrill is equally committed to ensuring that local election
officials comply with the requirements regarding the IVS (vote by phone)
machines.

 

Federal law has always required that these machines be set up and in working
order, but Secretary Merrill was able to successfully advocate for the State
Elections Enforcement Commission to have additional enforcement mechanisms
for those who do not comply.
