I think it would be very helpful for listsers to contact Senator Blumenthal's office.  I'm only one voice.   For all he knows, I could be the only person in Connecticut who cares about ending subminimum wages.  He and his staff need to hear from all of us!

Senator Blumenthal made his bones in Connecticut by sticking up for the mistreated when he was Connecticut Attorney General.  He's a good person with good values, but he needs to hear us!  Phone calls are so quick and easy.

Anyone can call, so everyone should call.  Ask him to introduce a Senate companion bill to HR 3086, the Fair Wages for Workers with Disabilities Act.

Justin,

Great post.  Thank you for your work on this!

For my congresswoman, Rosa DeLauro, I've regularly called the aide in her
office our NFB delegation and I met with at Washington Seminar.
Congresswoman DeLauro hasn't made a decision yet; the aide tells me that
they've gotten pressure from "both sides", that is, from the workshops and
Goodwill.  For her, and any of the remaining three congressmen and Senator
Blumenthal, I recommend:
1. Call their office.  If you're in my district, the aide to speak with is
Matt Doyle.  You can reach the office at (202) 225-3661.  Especially if
Congresswoman DeLauro is your congresswoman, call.  Justin, do you think it
would be helpful for listers to contact the aide in Senator Blumenthal's
office you've been working with directly?
2. When we picket on the 25th, let anyone interested know to call Senator
Blumenthal and their congressman (except Courtney, who's already
co-sponsored).  Let the public know that Goodwill is lobbying against our
efforts.

Nathanael

Fellow Federationists:

As far as I know, Joe Courtney is still the only Connecticut legislator
who has co-sponsored HR 3086, the Fair Wages for Workers with Disabilities
Act.

I am grateful to be in his district.  Can we all share publicly what we have
been doing with our legislators to garner support?  I have also met with
Senator Richard Blumenthal and sent follow-up emails to his legislative
assistant, Meg Benner, with hopes of convincing him to introduce a Senate
companion bill.

As we all boycott Goodwill and prepare to demonstrate on Saturday, August
25, it is important for us to remember that our final goal is the passage of
the Fair Wages for Workers with Disabilities Act to end an outdated practice
that is unfair, discriminatory, and immoral.
