Very cool!

I've written to Connecticut Public Radio regarding our NFB issues, and I've
long thought it would be a good idea to find a way to present the
organization through their programs. I hope you'll get a chance to describe
and discuss just what the NFB is and what it stands for. This morning show
with Mr. Dankosky is generally quite focused on political and local headline
related topics as I recall. Another good venue, if it could be arranged,
would be the Collin McEnroe show in the afternoon. This is another local NPR
show that's often more geared towards interesting causes, perspectives, and
peoples the public doesn't usually get exposed to. If I do say so myself,
the NFB, though robust, consists of people with valuable perspectives and
causes the general public doesn't ordinarily hear. Dr. Maurer in fact took a
jab at an episode of the Public Radio show "This American Life" during his
banquet speech this year. This is a show I rather enjoy, but in this
instance, it presented a comedian all too willing to play to popular
blindness stereotypes in order to get attention. What we need instead is
positive dignified attention.

Best of luck to JustinJ

Thank you, Beth!

This accomplishment is not only mine. It is a result of the cumulative work
of all of us who believe in the capacity of disabled people.

I am honored to carry the responsibility of educating the public on
Connecticut Public Radio.

Justin

Fellow Federationists:

On Tuesday, August 13, I will join host John Dankosky on "Where We Live" on
Connecticut Public Radio at 9:35 a.m. I will be on until the end of the
show.

What will I be discussing? I'll be discussing the Workforce Investment Act
(S 1356) and the Fair Wages for Workers with Disabilities Act of 2013 (HR
831). I was honored to have an interview with an NPR reporter last week,
and I was consequently invited to be a featured speaker.

For those of us who have not yet contacted our legislators, you might want
to add this into your discussion. For those of us who have already reached
out, this is a great excuse to reach out again!

If you cannot listen on the radio, you can listen live online at
