I made a copy of this for members of the East of the River Chapter as I felt this is a worthwhile certificate to have handy as well as the full-size certificate as I have unless you are getting it for the first time as a lamenated copy. M. Beaulier

Dear community partners and staff,

I am writing to let you know that we are now able to offer smaller sized versions of the Certificate of Legal Blindness or Deaf-Blindness upon request. This idea grew out of a recommendation from some of our clients who are Deaf-Blind after encountering communication barriers in their communities. We can produce the certificate in wallet size (with reduced information on the card) or in placard size (roughly 8.5 by 6 inches). The cards can be laminated if desired for durability. These certificates are not the same as a legal identification card that gets issued through the Department of Motor Vehicles or certain AAA locations on behalf of DMV. But if this is something that you believe would be of benefit to you, when calling the Bureau to request a certificate of legal blindness or deaf-blindness, please indicate if you would like for it to be issued in one of these alternative sizes. Thank you.
