Subject: College scholarships for blnd students; deadline 3/31

Please help us inform Connecticut's blind students of this opportunity
through informing their teachers.

Dear Educators of Blind Students:

The National Federation of the Blind Scholarship Program invites blind
students who will attend college in fall 2014 to apply for a scholarship. We
offer 30 awards, worth from $3,000 up to $12,000, plus financial assistance
for the 30 winners to attend our July 2014 Annual Convention in Orlando,
Florida -the largest and most informational convention for blind persons in
the world. Students apply once to the program to be in the pool for all 30
scholarships.

These scholarships are available for incoming freshmen up through graduate
level. Membership in the National Federation of the Blind is not required.

For full information, including the rules for eligibility, a link to the
online application form, and the checklist for required documents, go to
www.nfb.org/scholarships. Submission deadline: 3-31-14.

Cordially,

Lorraine Rovig

Assistant to Chairperson Patti Chang, Esq.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can have the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
