Fellow Federationists:

I just got off the phone with Senator Dante Bartolomeo. She told me that she
would remove guide dogs from SB 234.

Now, we can’t throw a party to celebrate just yet; the results are not in
the books yet, but we are close to the point in time when we can celebrate.

While I had her attention, and while she was so into helping people with
disabilities, I thought I’d talk to her about something else, something on
our wish list

She also told me that she would be very interested in a state-level bill to
end the unfair, discriminatory, and immoral practice of paying less than
minimum wage to workers with disabilities in Connecticut. She and I will be
planning a meeting with my local State Senator, Tony Guglielmo, a
republican, so that we can start on both sides of the aisle. We are hoping
to have that meeting in the fall.

Together, we are changing what it means to be blind.

Yours in Federationism,

Justin Salisbury

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
