Fellow Federationists:
Do you want to see guide dogs taken out of SB 234?
If enough of us do actually want it, we will get it done.
The bill was referred six days ago to the Committee on Appropriations,
which means we have another round of calls to make. If we call the office of:
Appropriations Committee
· Legislative Office Building, Room 2700
· Hartford, CT 06106
· (860) 240‑0390
(mailto:apptestimony at cga.ct.gov) …and if we tell them that we want guide
dogs taken out of this bill, we stand a good chance.
Here’s the secret, though:
If we want to get this done, we can’t sit back and hope that other people
will do it. We have to do it as individuals. I used to put things like this
on the back burner with the hope that I’d get to it sooner or later, and
then I’d stumble across my reminder note to do it when it was too late.
Please take just a minute to call the Appropriations Committee. It will pay
off!
Many of us have been working diligently so far, and we need to keep that
up. If more of our members join in the fight, we might actually win.
We’ve got a guide dog school coming out against the bill, and it’s great
to have them on our side.
Let’s keep at it!
Yours always,
Justin

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
