Good morning friends;

I hope I'm not too late to make this phone call. Justin I must admit although I did make a phone call before, and sent an e-mail at your request, I was a bit unsure of this issue. However, now that I now that you say a guide dog school has joined the fight, I now know that it's not at the request of the schools, and I'm with this 100% I would like to make one suggestion though. There are a lot of dog guide users & members of the Federation that are not on the list serve, perhaps you are, a designated caller, can call each chapter president and ask them to make calls to their members, and ask for them to call as well. I would volentier but I don't have all distance, and I am saving my calling card for legislative or committee calls. Just an idea, and I will make my phone call this moring.

Ss you know I have stepped down as hapter president, and our new president lives in Bridgeport which is out of my calling range.

Rich

Hey everybody,

Sorry about that! The copying and pasting of email addresses was completely unintentional. From an iPhone, it may be that it doesn't show up as it recognize the email address because, quite frankly, it isn't a complete email address!

If you all want to send things to the address that he posted, go for it. Please make sure that you do something!

Only if you want to see guide dogs taken out of this bill, that is…

Have a good one!

Justin

Justin,

In the original message you sent, asking us to call the committee, immediately below the phone number appeared the following e-mail address:

apptestimony at cga.ct <javascript:_e(%7B%7D,'cvml','apptestimony at cga.ct');>

which, depending on your e-mail client, could be clicked on to begin drafting a message. Because of some formatting weirdness thanks to Microsoft, I had trouble copying and pasting it here and in the process realized that this is only part of a proper e-mail address (no e-mail address I know of could end in “.ct” as opposed to “.com”, “.org”, or “.ct.us <http://ct.us/> ” or “ca.us <http://ca.us/> ”).

Thank you, though, for clarifying for us that you’d rather us call. In fact I saw your message just as I was sitting down to draft an e-mail copying my senator and assemblywoman.

I’ll call tomorrow, and I hope everyone on this list who didn’t call today does so tomorrow.

Thanks for your hard work on this! Your drive and principle and willingness to help others shows well here especially since this issue may seem to have less an effect on you as it may for many other colleagues and friends.

Hey Joyce,

I really appreciate having you active in this fight. I went back and reread my email, and I can't see where I did put an email address that people were supposed to use. Your screen access software may be focusing in on the physical address or the phone number. I do not have an email address to use it this time, but I think that's a good thing. I like phone calls because they are quick, and you can't sit there overanalyzing them while you're doing them.

If you find an email address, please go ahead and share it, but I'm all for the phone calls right now.

Have a great night!

By the way, while you all are sleeping tonight, I am going to be polishing up a research proposal for an experiment to measure the adults capacity to improve braille literacy. As a movement, we are doing great things!

When I press enter on the email address nothing happens and when I try copy & pasting it, nothing happens.

Thank you,

Fellow Federationists:

Do you want to see guide dogs taken out of SB 234?

If enough of us do actually want it, we will get it done.

The bill was referred six days ago to the Committee on Appropriations, which means we have another round of calls to make. If we call the office of:

Appropriations Committee

· Legislative Office Building, Room 2700

· Hartford, CT 06106

· (860) 240‑0390

 <javascript:_e(%7B%7D,'cvml','apptestimony at cga.ct.gov');>

…and if we tell them that we want guide dogs taken out of this bill, we stand a good chance.

Here’s the secret, though:

If we want to get this done, we can’t sit back and hope that other people will do it. We have to do it as individuals. I used to put things like this on the back burner with the hope that I’d get to it sooner or later, and then I’d stumble across my reminder note to do it when it was too late. Please take just a minute to call the Appropriations Committee. It will pay off!

Many of us have been working diligently so far, and we need to keep that up. If more of our members join in the fight, we might actually win.

We’ve got a guide dog school coming out against the bill, and it’s great to have them on our side.

Let’s keep at it!

Yours always,

Justin
