Fellow NFB of Connecticut Members and Friends:

I received the forwarded internship announcement from one of our NFB
colleagues, now in California. Though it is for next summer and you're
likely just now wrapping up this summer, the applications are due relatively
early. You'll read that our colleague did this internship a few years ago
and it led to great opportunities for her.

Best,
Nathanael T. Wales, Treasurer
NFB of Connecticut

Please see the below information on the American Association of People with
Disabilities' Summer Internship Program. In my opinion, this is one of the
best internship programs in the country. The program places college
students, graduate students, law students, and recent graduates in
internships with Congressional offices, federal agencies, non-profit
organizations, and for-profit companies in the Washington, DC area. It is a
once-in-a-lifetime invaluable experience. Housing and transportation to and
from Washington, DC are paid for by the program. Interns receive a stipend
to cover the cost of living expenses as well. I participated in this
internship program in between my junior and senior year of college and it
led to a full-time job in a Senator's office. I would definitely encourage
any self-motivated, assertive current or recent college, graduate, or law
student with a disability to apply. For more information, click on the link
