[CT-NFB] Your opinion is valued.

Hello Jim,

I have been following this conversation for some time now. Although it is important for all of us to get to know one another better, the AT Large chapter of the NFB of CT is a Chapter, as Phil pointed out. That means it must conduct NFB business and not just be a social club. I too like your idea very much and it will give the affiliate a chance to get to know people outside of their chapters. Business items could be taken care of in the first half hour and then the meet and greet could happen in the second half hour. The Presidential release is very important but takes up quite a bit of time when you only have one hour for your meeting. President Riccobono has the release live on the first of every month. I will give all chapter presidents this information and that way your members can listen to it then and you will not have to play it at your meeting. You are doing a wonderful job with this chapter and this is in no way a negative reflection of what you have been doing. As always please feel free to reach out to me for help and advice.

Best Regards,

Hi Jim,

You and your chapter members have a really great idea.

Sometimes organizations become so focussed on their objectives that they forget to take time

to get to know each other better and just have fun. Food for thought...

.one suggestion you might consider...Instead of 25-30 minutes, maybe 15-20 minutes, then Q&A and discussion.

Peoples' attention tends to wander after 20 minutes.

I too appreciate your chapter's ZOOM invitation to meetings.

Mary

I've said this by phone call, but it bears repeating in writing: I am
absolutely stoked about this idea. It will be interesting and edifying to
hear other members' stories, the challenges and the resolutions, the
frustrations and the joys--and the ongoing mixed bags. Looking forward to
it.

Hi Federation Friends,

The At-Large Chapter would like your feedback on a new meeting format.
That is, a speaker meeting using our own affiliate members telling
their stories.

A speaker would have 25 to 30 minutes to share and then take comments
from the audience. The meeting would run from 8:00pm till 9:00pm the
third Wednesday, every other month starting December 2020.

Our Chapter feels it would be a great way to know each other better.

What do you folks think of the idea?

Warm regards to all,

Jim Cronin
