Hi Deb,

In my experience the driver does roll down the window and say your name. They want to confirm they are picking up the right person. I hope this helps.

Subject: [CT-NFB] Uber and Lyft

Fellow Nfb members,
I have never used either of the above services but I understand from other members that The drivers do not call your name when they stop the car. It seems as though that would be much safer than sending a description and license plate of the car since most of us would not be able to see that. How would someone know that it was actually an Uber or a Lyft driver or just someone posing as one. Does anyone know if this issue has been addressed with these companies?
