I am e-mailing to provide a clarification about this important job
announcement. This position is within the Department of Aging and Disability
Services, but it is NOT in the BESB bureau. Rather, it is within the Bureau
of Rehabilitation Services, which serves residents with disabilities not
specific to blindness. This appears to be an important and impactful job. I
have copied Cheryl Cepelak (as a blind carbon copy-yes, that's the term-to
consider her privacy If she wishes), who is still serving as the interim
director of BESB, and I invite her to let us know if I have misunderstood
anything about this important position.

 

Additionally, the position raises important questions that Beth (while
Maryanne is on leave hopefully recovering well from her surgery) and I are
working to get answers to.

 

I would like, again, to stress the importance of this job. It's a good
opportunity to make significant change in rehabilitation in Connecticut, and
I urge all of us to find good leaders qualified to apply for this job.
