Isabel,

And my heartfelt and proud thank you, too! It has been a joy to see you take on and flourish in leadership, in transforming the National Federation of the Blind in Connecticut and in our national student division work, and transform the lives of individual blind people.

And I am so glad that you will carry on the mission of our National Federation of the Blind in the next chapter of your life, even if outside of Connecticut! I know you will carry with you great Federation and Connecticut values. It’d be a pleasure to see you soon at National Convention, just in another delegation! Thank you for the work you have done, and thank you in advance for the work I know you will do.

My very best,

Nathanael

Thank you so much and best wishes for the next chapter in your career and life. We really appreciate all the effort that you have put in in your positions with the Connecticut National Federation Of The Blind affiliates. It really is a wonderful thing to take on a challenge like that that pushes a little bit, but not too much and you can learn from the experience that you can do more than you thought you could. Congratulations on that as well. Working with the Nfb will give you some other life skills as well so take that, and know that we do appreciate all the effort that you have put in. Keep in touch and I hope your pooch does well. I love The Seeing Eye as a fellow graduate. Sincerely Kristin and Winnie. And I’m sure she’ll look forward to her bark box.

Dear friends, Over convention this weekend, with a mixture of gratitude and a touch of sadness, I announced my decision to step down as the President of the Guide Dog and Student Divisions of the National Federation of the Blind of Connecticut. It has been an incredible journey filled with personal growth, deep connections, and unwavering support from this remarkable organization. As I reflect on my time in leadership, I am overwhelmed by the invaluable lessons I have learned and the experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. The National Federation of the Blind of Connecticut has been my guiding light, empowering me to push beyond the limits society sometimes imposes on blind individuals. Through this organization, I have discovered my own strength and potential. I am immensely thankful for the unwavering support and mentorship I have received throughout my involvement. The Federation's emphasis on fostering leadership has provided me with countless opportunities to develop my skills, advocate for change, and make a positive impact in the lives of others. The guidance and encouragement I have received from my fellow members and mentors have been instrumental in my personal and professional growth. The Guide Dog and Student Divisions have held a special place in my heart. Together, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that individuals have equal access to education, employment, and the freedom to navigate the world with confidence. It has been an honor to collaborate with such passionate and dedicated individuals who share the same vision of a more inclusive society. Though stepping down is bittersweet, I am filled with hope for the future of these divisions. I have witnessed the emergence of new leaders, individuals who are driven, compassionate, and eager to continue the transformative work we have started. I have every confidence that under their guidance, the Guide Dog and Student Divisions will thrive and bring about positive change in the lives of countless individuals. Congratulations to Selene Monjaraz, who was elected president of the student division, along with vice president Lizzy Cappelli, secretary Korrine Herlth, and treasurer Elijah Dionne. Another huge congratulations to Korrine Herlth for being elected President of the guide Dog division. To the National Federation of the Blind of Connecticut, thank you for believing in me, for challenging me to rise above my own expectations, and for providing a platform where I could make a difference. The memories, friendships, and lessons will forever hold a special place in my heart. As I embark on the next chapter of my journey, I carry with me the values instilled by this incredible organization. I am determined to continue advocating for equal rights, promoting accessibility, and empowering others to embrace their full potential. My time as President may be coming to an end, but my commitment to the mission of the National Federation of the Blind will endure. With heartfelt gratitude, Isabel
