Mark E. Lee, 70, of South Windsor, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 9, 2024. Son of Donn and Norma Lee, brother to Donna Lee and recently deceased Stephen Lee, Mark spent his younger years in rural Simsbury. He met Lucia (Barber) Lee, the love of his life, in 7th grade after he moved to South Windsor. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2023. He was father to Brian and Kathryn Lee, Laura and Ronald Bujold, and Alison and Brett Thompson; beloved Grampy to Madison, Marcus, Nora, Ada, Libby, and Burke; and constant companion to Peanut.

Mark spent countless days fishing the lakes and rivers of Eastern CT, a favorite spot being the Fenton River. He was an avid gardener, growing countless varieties of tomatoes. Each summer, he looked forward to Lee family camping trips at American Legion State Forest and visits to Hawk’s Nest Beach. In his later years, he loved spending time with his grandkids – fishing, going to fairs and amusement parks, playing dominoes, and eating seafood. He was a die-hard NY Yankees and Giants fan, to much of his family’s chagrin, and also loved classic cars and NASCAR. Mark had many memorable jobs, but his last was by far his favorite – spending his days fixing equipment alongside the wonderful family at Highland Park Market.

The Lee family would like to thank the compassionate, loving team at Manchester Oncology. There will be a celebration of Mark’s life on Friday, Feb. 16 at The Hollow at Manchester Country Club, with visitation at 11 a.m. followed by a tribute at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to give blood if they are able. Donations can be made to Red Cross Blood Services (redcrossblood.org).
