Hello again Federation Family, 

I am resending the message from Marchele Davis, our Chapter President
regarding the invitation to our chapter meeting this Saturday in case anyone
has difficulty opening the attachment.

Celebrate Black History Month with the NFB of CT Southern Chapter

 

Greetings Southern Chapter and the NFB of CT Affiliate Members,

We, the NFB of CT Southern Chapter are excited to invite you to a special
gathering as we come together to celebrate Black History Month. This is more
than just a meeting; it's a heartfelt tribute to the rich heritage,
achievements, and contributions of Black individuals, seen through the
unique lens of our experiences as blind members.

Blindness does not limit our ability to reflect, learn, and celebrate. In
fact, it strengthens our bond as we find innovative ways to connect, share,
and uplift one another. This month, we will highlight the voices of Black
leaders, who currently have shaped and  inspired change within both the
blind community and the broader society. We will have two guest Speakers who
are dynamic individuals that will share their personal journeys, insights,
and the impact of Black leaders in their lives.

First presenter will be Marilyn Green who has risen to prominence in the
National Federation of the Blind. Elected to the National Board of Directors
in July of 2023.

We will have Ron Brown who will be our second guest speaker. He also is the
immediate past 2nd vice president of the National Federation of the Blind
and is the immediate past president of the National Federation of the Blind
of Indiana of which he has been a proud member for more than 40 years!

We will start our meeting by conducting our chapter business first at 12pm,
followed by a presentation at 1PM by our guest presenters who were invited
by yours truly, Marchele Davis, Southern Chapter President.
