Hi Paul:

Most everyone likes a drink every now and then. I'm not a big drinker
either, but every so often a glass of wine hits the spot. I have always
been told by diabetic educators/dieticians that if drinking, to always have
something to eat with it. That is if the drink is something like wine or a
straight alcoholic beverage like vodka, gin, etc and they will all make
blood sugars drop. I'm not sure where beer fits in. Drinks like cordials &
all the mixed drinks are loaded with sugars and will cause blood sugars to
go up instead of down. Then, to I suppose it comes down to the test, test,
test notion.
