[Diabetes-talk] Update on Pumps?

It's a great idea but for one thing ... IMO pumps change sufficiently often
that such a page would be difficult to keep up-to-date. It'd be sort of like
our NFB NewslineR staff's task in keeping up with changes in newspaper feeds
-- sorta like trying to catch a tiger by the tail.

Thanks, Veronica. I appreciate everyone's input.
Just a thought, but, maybe the DAN could be the initiator of such a thing? A
page with reviews of the accessibility, or lack thereof, of various
equipment needed by Diabetics? Just sayin. I'd be up for helping with such a
thing, too, where I could. I'm not just suggesting a thing and leaving it up
to others completely. ;-)

Strive On!

You beat me to it, Mike. I sure don't know of any such place containing
reviews of all pumps by blind people. But it is absolutely worth inviting a
bunch of different reps to visit you and let you play with their pumps. Just
as sighted people are, we all have different ways that make sense to our
brains and one person's Heaven is another person's nightmare. <grin> And
your discussion changes if you are looking to wear a continuous glucose
monitor at the same time. The Medtronic isn't more accessible than any of
the others that are out now so there's no harm in having a snoop. If you
want more contact with some of us who use other pumps, just feel free to
ask. Happy snooping.
Veronica
