[Diabetes-talk] smart lancet

Hi Mike,
Does this device actually collect the bood from your finger or do you still have to get the blood on to the strip?
I am still having a lot of trouble getting bood on to the strip.
I have a lot of difficulty because I have very thick blood, kind of like molasses, I have Polycythemia) which means my blood produces too much iron.
I actually have to have a pint taken off every couple of months.
Sometimes even when other people poke my finger they get any blood. I do all of the things they tell you to do. I rather-but my finger, run it under hot water, squeeze the finger after I poke it, place finger on table and try to get lancet and strip to meet.
It's not a real problem right now but if I really had to know what my blood sugar was because I was running high or low I would have a problem.
If this device actually could capture the blood it would be worth $400 to me.
The aternative if I can't get my blood onto a strip doesn't look too pretty. Right now I am taking 1000 mg. Metformin two times a time.
My a1c is still about 5.3.
If you have any info on this device and where I can call to get more info please let me know.
Thanks,

Colleen Roth
