[Diabetes-talk] A couple of things.

Good afternoon Linda,

I bought a very nice talking blood pressure cuff from Walgreens that has served me very well for the last year or so. It is Walgreens own brand. It appears to only be available in-store. I checked Walgreens and Amazon to see if it might be available on-line, but it was not. My last BP monitor was Omron.

If you are lucky enough to have low vision there are many models that have larger size text on their display and some that can integrate with your computer (MAC OS or Windows) and / or smart phones (iPhone or other iOS device). Android and Windows phones don’t have voice support natively built into their operating systems. Forcing the manufacturers to bake the technology on top of the operating system. Microsoft is certainly trying to make voice synthesis and recognition, but they are 20 years behind Apple, Kurzweil, and AT&T Voice Synthesizer technology.

Stay far away from Oregon Scientific, Prodigy, Truly, Moshi, Mabis, North American Healthcare, HoMedics, GNC, Clever Choice, and Anova their stuff is very inaccurate.

>> First of all, does anyone here use a talking blood pressure monitor, but not the kind used on the wrist, but used like the kind in a doctor's office? If so, could you email me, off list if you want, with the name and where you got it? remember, I'm in canada, so I'd need to know if it can be gotten here, but we can do that research.
>> Secondly, I'm taking saint john's wort for seasonal affected disorder, and have noticed what could either be a side effect, or very pleasant and welcome benefit. I'm noticing that my blood sugar is nice and low, so much so that I may be able to decrease my insulin. Has anyone here used this, and noticed the same thing? yes, I know that there could be a lot of factors at play, one of them being a better night's sleep, but I'm just wondering.
